When it comes right down to it, at SP Windows we are not just about windows, we are about solving problems. Our sales philosophy is pretty simple – do what’s right. When we show up for an appointment our goal is not to sell a bunch windows. Our goal is to help the customer make a smart decision as it relates to their windows and doors. If this means a less expensive way to fix the windows they have versus installing a replacement window, so be it. It also means not taking shortcuts. For example, when we replace a window sill, we simply don’t just stuff a 2″ x4″ into the opening. We custom mill a new sill, prime it on all six sides and use the best combination of fasteners, glues and adhesives to make the repair last.

This is probably not the most convincing intro — but this video is just OK. That said, there’s a great shot of the SP wood jambliner. What we are showing is an old stained single-paned window we salvaged and made into a display for CEE Minneapolis Sound Insulation Program. The product is eligible for installation in phase A2, 2A and Phase 3 so far. One of the things that stands out, is that at first glance, it looks like a new window but it has all the charm and character of an old window. When I zoom in on the jambliner, you get the essence of why owners of vintage homes like the SP Windows System so much. With the matching stain, the window looks completely natural, even though it is now weather-stripped like a modern window.

If you hate the look of vinyl jambliners, this is a product you should check out.

You wouldn’t know it, but most of these storm windows are not original to the home. This Southwest Minneapolis homeowner was tired of looking at painted aluminum storm windows that just didn’t quite do justice to their vintage home. In fact, the beautiful fixed (picture window) was obstructed by two windows mulled together with the mullion running down the center of the viewing area. What SP did was to create a new two lite storm window which was custom made to the opening. We flanked the fixed window with the upper transom, with two double hung operable combination windows.
